Conservatism wins presidencies, not liberalism

by Real Deal on Jan.30, 2008, under Politics, Presidency

Fellow conservatives, republicans, libertarians, and other non-liberals: why do we continue to play this game?

(Liberals: accept my condolences, for everything)

Liberal/moderate Republican candidates for president fail every time they are tried. Why? Because the liberal/moderate Democrat is always more believable and appealing, and owns the voter base for liberalism, socialism and moderatism (new word.) You can not beat Democrats at their own game, not in a presidential election.

You don’t believe me? A little history lesson might jog your memory. Let’s take a look at recent moderate Republican presidential candidates.

Bob Dole lost to Bill Clinton, liberal/moderate and bad president

George HW Bush* (2nd term) lost to Bill Clinton, liberal/moderate and bad president

Gerald Ford lost to Jimmy Carter, worst ever president of the US

Barry Goldwater** lost to Lyndon B Johnson, an utterly useless president

Now let’s look at the success stories. What republicans actually won?

George W Bush*** (ran as conservative both times) beat two of the worst presidential candidates ever, Kerry and Gore

George HW Bush* (1st term, Reagan incumbent=conservative) beat terrible candidate Dukakis

Ronald Reagan (THE conservative, best president of 20th century) beat incumbent liberal Carter, and horrible candidate Mondale

Richard Nixon**** (conservative) beat McGovern and Humphrey, lost to JFK

Dwight Eisenhower (conservative) beat Adlai Stevenson twice

Do you see any patterns here? I do. I see that CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS WIN, and LIBERAL/MODERATE REPUBLICANS LOSE.

Sorry, that’s just how it works. I see one more pattern: Senators lose, governors win. There is good reason for this as well.

Anyone who sponsors anti-American bills with people such as Feingold or Kennedy, is not a conservative, make no mistake about it. Mccain can drop all the names he wants, he’s no conservative. Conservatives don’t vote against tax cuts and free speech.

So, if you would like to see the liberal/moderate/maverick candidate Senator Mccain on the republican ticket, you might as well accustom yourself to the idea of President Hillary Clinton or President Obama, because history has shown that the Democrats own this territory.

Alternately, you can wake up out of your media-brainwashed slumber, and support the only conservative left in the race, Gov. Romney*****, the last hope of keeping Hillary and Bill from a 3rd term in making a mockery and embarrassment out of the White House, or from the embarrassment of a terribly unqualified communist, Obama.

This will happen no matter what your beliefs are. This is how the two-party system works. So if you are anything but a liberal, you’re just fooling yourself by thinking a moderate or liberal republican senator can win the presidency. Count on Hillary or Obama being president at this time next year.

Please pass this on to anyone that you think still cares about America.

Me? I’m starting my expatriation process today. I have no interest in a more socialized America.

Footnotes

* George HW Bush never was a conservative, was defrauded as a moderate after raising taxes and other compromises with Democrats in his 1st term. However, as Vice President of the Reagan administration, was assumed to be a Reagan conservative his 1st term, which is why he won.

** Goldwater, often confused for a conservative, was actually a libertarian/moderate who did not agree with the religious right. To his credit he did help launch the modern conservative movement, but Reagan was obviously a much better candidate, and true conservative.

*** George W Bush ran as a conservative in both elections, but the truth has been revealed that he is just another big government republican with conservative leanings in certain areas. It should be noted that he narrowly won both presidential elections against terrible liberal candidates that Reagan would have destroyed in landslides.

**** Nixon did lose after nominated in 1968 in a weird and fraudulent election. There was heavy voter fraud in Texas and Illinois, two key states in the election. In addition JFK had conservative leanings, probably a factor in his assassination.

***** Despite obtaining the coveted Doug Cooke endorsement in Jan.08, Romney failed to win the moderate state of Florida.

Unmarked footnote: it is my sincere belief that Mccain is a closet liberal.
